Title: National Coral Reef Monitoring Program: Carbonate Budget data of the Flower Garden Banks National Marine Sanctuary from 2015-06-01 to 2015-06-05 (NCEI Accession 0159174)
Abstract: This dataset includes census based carbonate budget data that was collected in coral reef habitats located within the Flower Garden Banks National Marine Sanctuary (FGBNMS). Surveys (based on Perry et al 2012) were collected over one week aboard R/V Manta at the East Flower Garden Bank Mooring Buoy 3. Six transect surveys (10m each) were conducted to quantify benthic cover, macrobioerosion, and microbioerosion. Ten parrotfish surveys were also conducted to account for parrotfish erosion rates. This carbonate budget data along with other sea water chemistry data collected were used to establish a Class III monitoring site in the FGBNMS region.
