| Abstract: | This dataset includes current measurements, physical, and other data collected aboard the RV Nathaniel B. Palmer during cruise NBP0606 in the South Atlantic Ocean and Southern Ocean from 2006-07-03 to 2006-08-15. These data include CONDUCTIVITY, CURRENT SPEED - EAST/WEST COMPONENT (U), CURRENT SPEED - NORTH/SOUTH COMPONENT (V), SALINITY, and WATER TEMPERATURE. The instruments used to collect these data include ADCP, CTD, and GPS. These data were collected by B. Gregory Mitchell of University of California - San Diego; Scripps Institution of Oceanography, and by Raytheon Polar Services Company as part of Plankton Community Structure and Iron Distribution in the Southern Drake Passage and Scotia Sea. The Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory (LDEO) submitted these data to NCEI as part of the Rolling Deck to Repository (R2R) program. The ADCP data represent the raw dataset. Post processed quality assessed data are not available in this accession. |
