Title: Biological, chemical and other data collected aboard the THOMAS G. THOMPSON during cruise TN236 in the South Pacific Ocean from 2009-06-11 to 2009-07-08 (NCEI Accession 0104353)
Abstract: NCEI Accession 0104353 includes biological, chemical and other data collected aboard the THOMAS G. THOMPSON during cruise TN236 in the South Pacific Ocean from 2009-06-11 to 2009-07-08. These data include Attenuation/Transmission, CONDUCTIVITY, CURRENT SPEED - EAST/WEST COMPONENT (U), CURRENT SPEED - NORTH/SOUTH COMPONENT (V), DEPTH - BOTTOM, DEPTH - OBSERVATION, DISSOLVED OXYGEN, FLUORESCENCE, HYDROSTATIC PRESSURE, LATITUDE, LONGITUDE, SALINITY, WATER TEMPERATURE, course over ground, irradiance and speed over ground. The instruments used to collect these data include ADCP, CTD, GPS, PAR Sensor, echo sounder, fluorometer, oxygen meter and transmissometer. These data were collected by Anna-Louise Reysenbach of Portland State University, and by University of Washington as part of Distribution and Diversity of Thermoacidophiles from Deep-Sea Vents. The Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory (LDEO) submitted these data to NCEI as part of the Rolling Deck to Repository (R2R) program.

A suite of navigation products produced by the Rolling Deck to Repository program is included in this accession, which include one high resolution, one 1 minute resolution, and one low resolution coordinate file. The CTD data submitted by the originator represent the raw data suite. [Processed versions of the data were generated by NCEI.] R2R provides a processed version of the CTD data. The ADCP data represent the raw data set. Post processed quality assessed data are not available in this accession.

Supplementary information: NCEI Accession 0086548 contains documentation about data sets submitted to NCEI as part of the Rolling Deck to Repository program. Links directly to the documentation for each instrument package can be found in the Distribution Format section of the metadata record at http://accession.nodc.noaa.gov/0104353. The Joint Archive for Shipboard ADCP (JASADCP) holds a post-processed, quality-assessed version of the ADCP data. For more information about JASADCP and these data, see http://ilikai.soest.hawaii.edu/sadcp/ and the Cross Reference section of this accession's metadata record.

In this accession, NCEI has archived multiple versions of these data. The latest (and best) version of these data has the largest version number.
