The Ocean Archive System searches our original datasets as they were submitted to us, not individual points or profiles. If you want to search and retrieve ocean profiles in a common format, or objectively analyzed fields, your better option may be to use one of our project applications. See: Access Data

| Title: | Salinity, nutrients, and and extracted pigments from R/V New Horizon cruise NH0007 in the Northeast Pacific in 2000 as part of the U.S. GLOBEC program (NEP project) (NCEI Accession 0113254) |
| Abstract: | This dataset contains biological, chemical, and physical data collected on R/V New Horizon during cruise NH0007 in the North Pacific Ocean from 2000-07-28 to 2000-08-12. These data include Ammonium, Nitrite, SiOH_4, chlorophyll a, nitrate plus nitrite, reactive phosphorus (PO4), sal_bottle, salinity calculated from CTD primary sensors, salinity calculated from the CTD secondary sensors, temp2, total phaeopigment, water pressure, and water temperature. The instruments used to collect these data include Niskin bottle. These data were collected by Suzan S Pool of Oregon State University as part of the "U.S. GLOBEC Northeast Pacific (NEP)" project and "U.S. GLOBal ocean ECosystems dynamics (U.S. GLOBEC)" program. The Biological and Chemical Oceanography Data Management Office (BCO-DMO) submitted these data to NCEI on 2019-10-31. The following is the text of the dataset description provided by BCO-DMO: Salinity, nutrients, and extracted pigment Dataset Description: CTD Rosette Bottle Data from New Horizon cruise July 28 - August 12, 2000 (NH0007). Notes: (1) Actual Rosette Bottle Number (1-12) is obtained by dividing shown Bottle Position by 2 (e.g., 12 shown = 6). (2) Chlorophyll readings done by Leah Feinberg. (3) Chl_QCF is a quality control flag for the extracted chlorophyll data. Flagged 1 for samples that may have been rinsed with unfiltered rinse water. | Supplementary information: | Acquisition Description: Notes: (1) Nutrient samples were collected from most bottles; all nutrient data developed from samples frozen during the cruise and analyzed ashore; data developed by Burke Hales (OSU). (2) Bottle Salts were run by SIO techs on Guildline Autosalinometer. (3) sal (sal00) - salinity calculated from primary sensors (C0,T0) differ from bottle salts by less than 0.003 psu. (4) sal2 (sal11) - salinity calc. from secondary sensors (C1,T1) differ from bottle salts by ca. 0.0088 psu. Operation Detection Limits for Nutrient Concentrations (Units are micromoles per liter): PO4 Range: 0.003-0.004; Mean = 0.004 NO3+NO2 Range: 0.04-0.08; Mean = 0.06 Si(OH)4 Range: 0.13-0.24; Mean = 0.16 NO2 Range: 0.003-0.004; Mean= 0.003 In this accession, NCEI has archived multiple versions of these data. The latest (and best) version of these data has the largest version number. |
