The Ocean Archive System searches our original datasets as they were submitted to us, not individual points or profiles. If you want to search and retrieve ocean profiles in a common format, or objectively analyzed fields, your better option may be to use one of our project applications. See: Access Data

Title: Temperature and salinity measurements found in dataset IOOS collected by several gliders in the Coastal NW Atlantic, Coastal NE Pacific, Great Lakes, Caribbean, and S Atlantic from 2012 to 2014 (NCEI Accession 0123079)
Abstract: Temperature and salinity measurements submitted by IOOS. Data collected from 19 different gliders in the Coastal NW Atlantic, Coastal NE Pacific, Great Lakes, Caribbean, and S Atlantic from 2012 to 2014.

The Rutgers University Coastal Ocean Observation Lab has deployed autonomous underwater gliders around the world since 1990. Gliders are small, free-swimming, unmanned vehicles that use changes in buoyancy to move vertically and horizontally through the water column in a saw-tooth pattern. They are deployed for days to several months and gather detailed information about the physical, chemical and biological processes of the world's oceans. The Slocum glider was designed and built by Teledyne Webb Research Corporation, Falmouth, MA, USA.
