The Ocean Archive System searches our original datasets as they were submitted to us, not individual points or profiles. If you want to search and retrieve ocean profiles in a common format, or objectively analyzed fields, your better option may be to use one of our project applications. See: Access Data

Title: Sea level measured by tide gauges from global oceans-- the Joint Archive for Sea Level (JASL), 1887 - 2003 (NODC Accession 0001235)
Abstract: The Joint Archive for Sea Level (JASL) is a collaboration between the University of Hawaii Sea Level Center (UHSLC) and the World Data Center-Silver Spring (WDC-SS) for Oceanography, which is co-located at the US National Oceanographic Data Center. The JASL is based at the UHSLC and grew out of the need for data management support of the Tropical Ocean Global Atmosphere (TOGA) Sea Level Center, founded by Dr. Klaus Wyrtki in 1985 at the University of Hawaii. The primary objective of the JASL is to prepare a scientifically valid, well-documented archive of hourly, daily, and monthly sea level values in standardized formats that are readily available to the international research communities. The JASL is a Global Sea Level Observing System (GLOSS) archive center. The successful growth of the JASL has been made possible through the generous contributions of over 60 agencies representing over 70 countries. On an annual basis, copies of the cumulative data holdings are submitted to the WDC-SS, the Permanent Service for Mean Sea Level, and the Climate Variability `Delayed-Mode' Data Assembly Center for sea level.
