The Ocean Archive System searches our original datasets as they were submitted to us, not individual points or profiles. If you want to search and retrieve ocean profiles in a common format, or objectively analyzed fields, your better option may be to use one of our project applications. See: Access Data

Title: Florida Current transport in North Atlantic Ocean derived from Satellite Altimetry observations (NCEI Accession 0157747)
Abstract: This archive package contains estimates of the transport of the Florida Current generated by NOAA's Atlantic Oceanographic and Meteorological Laboratory (AOML). The Florida Current carries northward the western boundary flow of the wind-driven subtropical gyre circulation in the North Atlantic Ocean and the warm upper limb of the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation. Estimates of the Florida Current transport are carried out by NOAA/AOML using satellite altimetry data as a complimentary dataset to the in situ estimates that are obtained by the submarine telephone cable in the Florida Straits. These data are produced as part of a suite of key ocean indicators and indexes that are computed at AOML using hydrographic and satellite observations.
