The Ocean Archive System searches our original datasets as they were submitted to us, not individual points or profiles. If you want to search and retrieve ocean profiles in a common format, or objectively analyzed fields, your better option may be to use one of our project applications. See: Access Data

Title: CTD, water and sediment chemistry, particle sample elemental (C,N) and isotopic (13C, 15N) data, and time series photographs obtained from a marine snow profiling camera during R/V Endeavor cruise EN515 in the Gulf of Mexico from 2012-09-06 to 2012-09-16 (NCEI Accession 0208348)
Abstract: This dataset contains CTD, water and sediment chemistry, particle sample elemental (C,N) and isotopic (13C, 15N) data, and time series photographs obtained from a marine snow profiling camera during R/V Endeavor cruise EN515 in the Gulf of Mexico from 2012-09-06 to 2012-09-16. The CTD data were collected using a CTD-rosette system. The physical and chemical properties in the water column at the ECOGIG seep and other study sites were characterized. The ship departed Gulfport Mississppi on cruise EN515 on 2012-09-05 to collect samples at ECOGIG and other sites before returning to Gulfport on 2012-09-16. The dataset includes binned profiles and bottle files along with the header files. The water column and sediment chemistry data includes water column salinity, pH, concentration of dissolved nutrients, dissolved gases, total particulate nitrogen (TPN), total particulate carbon (TPC), particulate organic carbon (POC), and particulate inorganic carbon data acquired from 19 CTD casts and 5 multiple corer drops. The elemental and isotopic data includes the delta 13C and 15N, total Nitrogen and Carbon, and the C/N ratio. The particle samples were collected using a CTD-rosette and a MOCNESS. Time series photographs were obtained from a marine snow profiling camera on short-term moorings. Vertical profiles of size-specific particle abundance were taken from Snowcam/Fluxcam moorings near lease blocks GC600 (profiles 1-2) and OC26 (profiles 3-5) in the Green Canyon and Mississippi Canyon, respectively. The camera, a Nikon Coolpix 995, was lowered at a steady rate of 10m/min to just above the seafloor. Images were catpured every 11 seconds. The objectives were to characterize the physical and chemical properties in the water column at/near cold seeps in the northern Gulf of Mexico. All the data records also include sampling information (time, date, location, collection type, and depth).
