Title: ATOMIC aircraft AXBT: Subsurface ocean temperature measurements from Airborne eXpendable BathyThermographs (AXBT) deployed from N43 aircraft, Barbados: Atlantic Tradewind Ocean-Atmosphere Mesoscale Interaction Campaign 2020-01-19 to 2020-02-11 (NCEI Accession 0220436)
Abstract: The Atlantic Tradewind Ocean-Atmosphere Mesoscale Interaction Campaign (ATOMIC) was a field campaign held January-February 2020 in the tropical North Atlantic east of Barbados. The campaign, the U.S. complement to the European field campaign called EUREC4A, was aimed at better understanding cloud and air-sea interaction processes. ATOMIC included measurements from a NOAA WP-3D Orion "Hurricane Hunter" aircraft, the research ship Ronald H. Brown, and unpiloted vehicles launched from Barbados and from the Ronald H. Brown. This accession contains AXBT data in netCDF files.
