Title: Consolidation test in settling column in Barataria Bay, Louisiana from 2019-03-07 to 2019-03-19 (NCEI Accession 0276832)
Abstract: About 30 gallons of surfical sediment was collected Ponar grab sampler from bottom of Barataria Bay North station at 29.420417 N, 89.944028 W on 2019-03-07. Sediment was transported to Louisiana State University (Baton Rouge, Louisiana, USA). A series of laboratory consolidation tests were performed under room temperature (about 20 degree C). During the experiments, two salinity at 1 and 5 psu and four initial sediment concentrations of slurry at 10, 40, 60 and 120 g/L were used. The elevation of water sediment interface was tracked through time to measure sediment consolidation process. See similar methods from Lo et al.(2014) and Sha et al. (2018).
