The Ocean Archive System searches our original datasets as they were submitted to us, not individual points or profiles. If you want to search and retrieve ocean profiles in a common format, or objectively analyzed fields, your better option may be to use one of our project applications. See: Access Data

| Title: | Low resolution real-time physical trajectory profile data from glider sp069 deployed by Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI) in the East Coast - US/Canada from 2023-05-07 to 2023-06-11 (NCEI Accession 0291849) |
| Abstract: | During the first several months of the Surface Water and Ocean Topography (SWOT) satellite mission, the satellite was in an orbit that passed over select locations twice per day (one ascending and one descending pass). One of these 'cross-overs' was located offshore of Cape Hatteras, NC where the Gulf Stream detaches from the continental margin. In support of the calibration and validation of the SWOT measurements of sea surface topography, Spray gliders sampled within this cross-over as part of the SWOT Adopt-A-Crossover - Cape Hatteras campaign (https://www.swot-adac.org/campaigns/mab-swot/) in 2023. Gliders primarily attempted to hold station at the center of a triangular array of CPIEs just north of the Gulf Stream. Additional plots of these data are available at http://gliders.whoi.edu. The National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI) received the data in this dataset from the Integrated Ocean Observing System's National Glider Data Assembly Center (IOOS NGDAC). The IOOS NGDAC received the data in one or more netCDF files comprising an entire glider deployment. The data are measurements of physical oceanographic properties such as temperature, salinity, conductivity, and density. The IOOS NGDAC checked the files for compliance to their netCDF file convention, aggregated the files into a single netCDF file, and then submitted the file to NCEI for long-term preservation. Data files may be either low resolution real-time or full resolution. Full resolution files are designated as "delayed" in the netCDF file name. |
