Title: |
Microplastic concentrations in the gastrointestinal tracts of planktivorous fishes from the Thoothukudi region, India from 2018-11-03 to 2019-05-03 (NCEI Accession 0294675) |
Abstract: |
This study estimated the concentration of microplastics (i.e. plastics measuring less than 5 mm; reported in unit of count per individual) in the gastrointestinal tracts of planktivorous fishes Sardinella gibbosa (Goldstripe Sardinella) and Leiognathus lineolatus (Pony fish) from the Thoothukudi region, India from 2018-11-03 to 2019-05-03. The samples were caught with surface gillnet in the nearshore waters (5–10 nautical miles). Total length and weight were recorded for the samples. This dataset contains the mean results from the fish samples, in a spreadsheet format. |
