| Abstract: |
This study estimated the concentration of microplastics (i.e., plastics measuring less than 5 mm; unit of count per individual) in benthic invertebrates in Terra Nova Bay (Ross Sea, Antarctica) during 2015-01-15 to 2015-01-23. The sampling program was carried out aboard the MS Malippo in January 2015. Sediment samples containing the animals were collected with a Van Veen grab. Benthic macroinvertebrates were extracted from the sediment by metal sieve and thoroughly rinsed with seawater in field, fixed in ethanol. This dataset contains the results from all 36 samples, in a spreadsheet format. |
