Title: SAMOS project underway oceanographic and quality-controlled meteorological data collected aboard the Healy from 2012-02-01 to 2012-02-09 (NCEI Accession 0086669)
Abstract: The data logging system on the Healy recorded underway oceanographic and meteorological data from various instruments while cruising in the Coastal Waters of Southeast Alaska and British Columbia and North Pacific Ocean from 2012-02-01 to 2012-02-09. During this period, as part of the Shipboard Automated Meteorological and Oceanographic System (SAMOS) project, the data logging system sent the data daily via e-mail to Florida State University (FSU), where the Center for Ocean-Atmospheric Prediction Studies (COAPS) quality-controlled (QCed) the meteorological data. COAPS submitted four versions of the data to the National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI): the original data e-mailed by the data logging system, first-level (automatically and merged) QCed data, and second-level (visually) QCed data. NCEI Accession 0086669 contains all these data.
