The Ocean Archive System searches our original datasets as they were submitted to us, not individual points or profiles. If you want to search and retrieve ocean profiles in a common format, or objectively analyzed fields, your better option may be to use one of our project applications. See: Access Data

Title: Cloud amount/frequency, NITRATE and other data from EWA, BORA and other platforms from 1928-08-16 to 1985-12-17 (NCEI Accession 9300135)
Abstract: The Ocean Serial data in this accession was collected by Poland as part of Global Ocean Data Archaeology and Rescue (GODAR) project using over 14 ships. The data was collected between August 16, 1928 and December 17, 1985. The data was submitted to NODC via International Council for Exploration of the Sea, Denmark. In 1993 at the time of submission Polish submitters requested that data not yet 10-years old not be released. Therefore NODC converted 82,800 records for data only up to 1982.

Note: Metadata for this accession were extracted from a legacy database maintained by the U.S. National Oceanographic Data Center (NODC). The design of the database did not exactly reflect the FGDC Content Standard for Digital Geospatial Metadata (CSDGM).

Principal Investigator (PI) and organization contact information accurately represents all available information from the legacy database at the time that this description was created. However, proper attribution of a PI to a specific institution or the role (submitting or collecting) taken by an institution may not be correct due to inexact mapping between fields in the legacy database and the CSDGM. Due to this uncertainty, the contact information was initially recorded in the Supplemental Information element of the CSDGM description.

To develop more accurate metadata, NCEI reviews metadata for all accessions on an ongoing basis.
