The Ocean Archive System searches our original datasets as they were submitted to us, not individual points or profiles. If you want to search and retrieve ocean profiles in a common format, or objectively analyzed fields, your better option may be to use one of our project applications. See: Access Data

Title: Cloud amount/frequency, NITRATE and other data from CANDARLI and CARSAMBA from 1965-01-14 to 1966-08-27 (NODC Accession 9300172)
Abstract: The Ocean Serial data in this accession was collected from Nansen bottles as part of Global Ocean Data Archeaology and Rescue (GODAR) project from ships CANDARLI and CARSAMBA. The data was collected between January 14, 1965 and August 27, 1966. Oceanographic Station Data contain physical and chemical oceanographic data recorded at discrete depth levels. Two data files and a format file was submitted to NODC by Capt Huseyin Yuce, Turkish Navy Hydrographic Office, Istanbul, Turkey on a diskette. The data was sent to Bruce Douglas and was received at NODC via World Data Center-A.

Supplementary information: Note: Metadata for this accession were extracted from a legacy database
maintained by the U.S. National Oceanographic Data Center (NODC). The
design of the database did not exactly reflect the FGDC Content
Standard for Digital Geospatial Metadata (CSDGM).

Principal Investigator (PI) and organization contact information
accurately represents all available information from the legacy database
at the time that this description was created. However, proper
attribution of a PI to a specific institution or the role (submitting or
collecting) taken by an institution may not be correct due to inexact
mapping between fields in the legacy database and the CSDGM. Due to this
uncertainty, the contact information was initially recorded in the
Supplemental Information element of the CSDGM description.

To develop more accurate metadata, the NODC reviews metadata for all
accessions on an ongoing basis.
