Title: CoralTemp: 5km gap-free analyzed blended sea surface temperature product for the global ocean from 1999-01-01 to 1999-12-31 (NCEI Accession 0178835)
Abstract: CoralTemp is a global, 0.05-degree (5km) spatial resolution, daily, foundation sea surface temperature (SST) product. CoralTemp provides a night-only water temperature at a depth of 20cm, minimizing the diurnal warming signal. The dataset is completely gap-free from 1985 to the present. CoralTemp is derived from three separate, but related datasets: the Operational Sea Surface Temperature and Sea Ice Analysis (OSTIA) Reanalysis (January 1985 to November 2002), the NOAA/National Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service (NESDIS) Blended Reanalysis (November 2002 to October 2016), and the NOAA/NESDIS Blended near-real-time product (October 2016 to present). Together, these datasets provide a consistent SST product from January 1, 1985, to the present. Each CoralTemp file also includes an array that describes the sea-ice fraction for each SST pixel.
