Title: SAMOS project underway oceanographic and quality-controlled meteorological data collected aboard NOAA Ship Miller Freeman from 2007-10-03 to 2007-10-19 (NCEI Accession 0057808)
Abstract: The data logging system on NOAA Ship Miller Freeman recorded underway oceanographic and meteorological data from various instruments while cruising in the Bering Sea, Coastal Waters of Southeast Alaska and British Columbia and North Pacific Ocean from 2007-10-03 to 2007-10-19. During this period, as part of the Shipboard Automated Meteorological and Oceanographic System (SAMOS) project, the data logging system sent the data daily via e-mail to Florida State University (FSU), where the Center for Ocean-Atmospheric Prediction Studies (COAPS) quality-controlled (QCed) the meteorological data. COAPS submitted four versions of the data to the National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI): the original data e-mailed by the data logging system, first-level (automatically and merged) QCed data, and second-level (visually) QCed data. This dataset contains all these data.
