| Abstract: | This dataset contains data from Drifting Buoys deployed during the Hawaii/Tahiti Shuttle Experiment between February 7, 1979 and December 17, 1980. Data consists of information transmitted from buoy in TOGA Area, Pacific (30 N to 30 S) to orbiting satellite and received by the Argos System of Centre Spatial de Toulouse. Typical parameters for these records are: platform number, julian date, time, location index, initial altitude and frequency, latitude/longitude, speed in degrees/day and transmission frequency. The original data submitted in three tapes in binary form have been converted to current NODC data storage format. |
