Physical data were collected from XBT casts from the North and South Pacific Oceans. Data were collected from March 2001 to June 2009. Data were collected and submitted by the Scripps Institution of Oceanography (SIO) in support of the Ship of Opportunity (SOOP) and the Global Temperature-Salinity Pilot Project (GTSPP). Physical parameters include temperature profiles.

The SIO High Resolution XBT Network Program for PX37, PX10, and PX44 data are processed and incorporated into the Global Temperature-Salinity Profile Programme (GTSPP) database.
Purpose This dataset is available to the public for a wide variety of uses including scientific research and analysis.

  • 2015-04-22T00:00:00 - NOAA created the National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI) by merging NOAA's National Climatic Data Center (NCDC), National Geophysical Data Center (NGDC), and National Oceanographic Data Center (NODC), including the National Coastal Data Development Center (NCDDC), per the Consolidated and Further Continuing Appropriations Act, 2015, Public Law 113-235. NCEI launched publicly on April 22, 2015.
