Low resolution real-time physical trajectory profile data from glider ru23 deployed by Rutgers University Center for Ocean Observing Leadership (RU COOL) and Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey in the North Atlantic from 2025-02-26 to 2025-03-11 (NCEI Accession 0305929)
This dataset includes low resolution real-time physical trajectory profile data from glider ru23 deployed by Rutgers University Center for Ocean Observing Leadership (RU COOL) and Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey in the North Atlantic from 2025-02-26 to 2025-03-11 for the MOO Endurance Line project.
The National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI) received the data in this dataset from the Integrated Ocean Observing System (IOOS) National Glider Data Assembly Center (NGDAC). The IOOS NGDAC received the data in one or more netCDF files comprising an entire glider deployment. The data are measurements of physical oceanographic properties such as temperature, salinity, conductivity, and density. The IOOS NGDAC checked the files for compliance to their netCDF file convention, aggregated the files into a single netCDF file, and then submitted the file to NCEI for long-term preservation. Data files may be either low resolution real-time or full resolution. Full resolution files are designated as "delayed" in the netCDF file name.
The data producer provided this summary: The Rutgers University Master of Operational Oceanography (MOO) is a compact 12-month Master of Science degree program that provides applied training. This glider deployment is being piloted and managed by the 2024-2025 class and will survey the Rutgers E-line, a cross-shelf transect extending from Atlantic City, NJ.
