This dataset includes low resolution real-time physical trajectory profile data from glider bios_minnie deployed by Bermuda Institute of Ocean Sciences (BIOS) and Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey in the Northwest Atlantic Ocean from 2025-04-03 to 2025-04-23 for the Bermuda Institute of Ocean Sciences – Simons Collaboration on Ocean Processes and Ecology (BIOS-SCOPE) and MAGIC: Mid Atlantic Glider Initiative and Collaboration project.

The National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI) received the data in this dataset from the Integrated Ocean Observing System (IOOS) National Glider Data Assembly Center (NGDAC). The IOOS NGDAC received the data in one or more netCDF files comprising an entire glider deployment. The data are measurements of physical oceanographic properties such as temperature, salinity, conductivity, and density. The IOOS NGDAC checked the files for compliance to their netCDF file convention, aggregated the files into a single netCDF file, and then submitted the file to NCEI for long-term preservation. Data files may be either low resolution real-time or full resolution. Full resolution files are designated as "delayed" in the netCDF file name.

The data producer provided this summary: The purpose of this mission is to profile the water column near HydroStation 'S' from the onset of stratification in spring seeking the turbulent mixing phenomenon associated with large salp blooms observed in previous years. This glider is carrying a CTD, ECO-puck, and optode which will deliver data in real-time including temperature, salinity, chlorophyll-a, backscatter, dissolved oxygen, and nitrate. A second glider, deployed in tandem with this one, is equipped with a microstructure turbulence sensor. Both vehicles will remain in the water through the end of May to provide support to the annual BIOS-SCOPE cruise scheduled for May 15-20.
