This dataset includes low resolution real-time physical trajectory profile data from glider maracoos_06 deployed by State University of New York at Stony Brook (SBU) in the Mid-Atlantic Bight from 2025-10-06 to 2025-10-23.

The National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI) received the data in this dataset from the Integrated Ocean Observing System (IOOS) National Glider Data Assembly Center (NGDAC). The IOOS NGDAC received the data in one or more netCDF files comprising an entire glider deployment. The data are measurements of physical oceanographic properties such as temperature, salinity, conductivity, and density. The IOOS NGDAC checked the files for compliance to their netCDF file convention, aggregated the files into a single netCDF file, and then submitted the file to NCEI for long-term preservation. Data files may be either low resolution real-time or full resolution. Full resolution files are designated as "delayed" in the netCDF file name.

The data producer provided this summary: This project supports the deployment and real-time data delivery of autonomous underwater gliders in the coastal ocean in support of MARACOOS and is being deployed to monitor the end of hurricane season and the Mid-Atlantic Bight fall transition. The real-time dataset contains CTD, chlorophyll a, CDOM, optical backscatter, and dissolved oxygen measurements. The display of baleen whale occurrence information will be available in near real-time on the Robots4Whales website http://robots4whales.whoi.edu.
