The Mean Layer Temperature - University of Alabama Huntsville (UAH) Climate Data Record (CDR) provides monthly gridded data from microwave sensors onboard operational polar orbiting satellites. These satellites measure temperature anomalies of the atmospheric layer from the surface to roughly 10km, centered in the Lower Troposphere. The final CDR has been calibrated to include adjustments for spacecraft drift, orbital decay, instrument calibration and instrument biases when merging data from the various spacecraft. Mean Layer Temperatures centered in the mid-troposphere (0-15km) and in the lower stratosphere (10-25km) extend this dataset. The final record includes global monthly gridded temperature anomalies on a global 2.5°x2.5° grid extending from 1978–2023.
